Your Airport Style Inspiration-Tom Ford Style Representative

  Tom Ford always has something interesting and provocative to say about fashion, but the most important thing the designer can teach us about getting dressed is maybe through looking at what he himself wears every day.

You’d expect that Tom Ford would be a naturally stylish guy—after all he’s the head of an eponymous clothing brand that sells luxe wares to Hollywood heavyweights and business titans across the world. But it’s really something to see just how committed he is to living a stylish life, in every aspect, at all times.

  The latest example: everything he wore making his way to LAX yesterday. Now, granted we have a thing for airport style, but leave it to Ford to actually wear a full perfectly-cut suit to fly in, complete with dress shoes, hard-case valise (most people would call it a suitcase, but Ford would call it a valise), a leather duffel, dark sunglasses, a perfectly crisp white shirt unbuttoned to God-knows-wear, and the perfect amount of stubble. It’s glorious, really, the dedication and execution that Ford demonstrates. It’s not easy being stylish.

  And while it’s a testament to Ford that he doesn’t let his guard down, even when on a transatlantic flight, there’s also a trick to learn. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen this outfit—he damn near wore the exact same thing just earlier this year. In the past, he’s worn variations on the same thing to public appearances, red carpets, parties, and the like. Look at his seasonal collection and you’ll see a similar thing.

  Which brings us to the power of the uniform. It’s easy to think that dressing up in some outlandish outfit every day is the key to being stylish, but that’s not the case. Some of the most stylish guys we know wear a variation on a theme every day. If it makes you look good, feel comfortable, and it helps make your life easier (lets not forget that Ford is also a film director, photographer, and father) why wouldn’t you wear it as often as you can? Even if that means making curbside at LAX look like the latest Hollywood premiere—as they say, you can never be too overdressed.
