VANGOSEDUN’s New Vintage Series Leather Tote Bags

  Today we launched the 2017 new vintage series leather tote bags, this leather tote was inspired by my father-in-law’s leatherwork from the 70s. The design is simple, yet elegant, to showcase the beauty of the raw materials. The tote is soft, casual, and unstructured.

  The tote features beautifully distressed, Italian full-grain, full-aniline saddle brown leather. This leather is sort of like your favorite pair of worn-in jeans – perfectly imperfect, with color and texture variations throughout. The full-grain leather may or may not have healed scars, scratches, etc. The straps are made of saddle-grade American vegetable tanned bridle leather and are strong, yet supple, and cured with waxes to help them stand up to the elements. The straps are top stitched for strength and beauty, as well as burnished for comfort and to seal the leather. The tote is unlined and has one interior slip pocket for your phone and keys.

  Leather is a natural material, and I only use full grain leather, which is authentic and is considered the finest grade, as it has not been sanded down and resurfaced during the tanning process. This means that the leather may have natural markings, wrinkles, scars, small blemishes, etc., which are considered “signature” of fine leather, and become part of the rustic, distressed texture of this bag. Every hide comes from a unique cow, and as such, there may be variations in color and texture both within a bag and between bags, and no two totes will be exactly alike – leaving you with a bag that is uniquely yours!
